My Story
I’m Lucy Warwick-Guasp, a consultant, trainer and educator specialising in LGBTQ+ inclusion in perinatal mental health services. I work with NHS teams, charities and organisations across the UK to improve the experiences of LGBTQ+ parents and families accessing perinatal mental health support.
I deliver training, consultancy and conference presentations for healthcare professionals and services, helping teams build confidence, knowledge and understanding in supporting LGBTQ+ parents experiencing perinatal mental health difficulties. My work focuses on creating inclusive, compassionate and trauma-informed care for LGBTQ+ families during the perinatal period.
I have delivered training to thousands of practitioners and spoken for organisations including the Royal College of Psychiatrists, the Institute of Health Visiting, Make Birth Better, the Psychological Society of Ireland and the Australasian Birth Trauma Association.
Alongside my specialist work in perinatal mental health, I bring more than 20 years of experience in education, leadership and facilitation. I previously worked for Stonewall as Senior Education Officer, where I developed and delivered national programmes supporting schools and Local Authorities to create more inclusive environments for LGBTQ+ young people.
My work is also informed by lived experience. As a same-sex parent who experienced postnatal depression, I understand the importance of compassionate and inclusive support during the perinatal period.
My aim is to help professionals and organisations feel confident in supporting LGBTQ+ families.
